Following the recent publication of parliamentary election results by the Central Election Commission of Georgia (CEC), Lithuanian Seimas member Žygimantas Pavilionis has voiced his concerns regarding the implications for Georgia’s European future.

“Georgian Nightmare is stealing the European future of Geogian nation, trying to consolidate the Russian or Belarussian way back to the Russian past instead of consolidating its future, freedom, democracy, sovereignty and territorial integrity inside the EU and NATO,” Žygimantas Pavilionis wrote.

CEC reported with 99.65% of polling stations counted, the ruling party, Georgian Dream, is leading with 54.09% of the votes, while a coalition of four opposition parties has garnered a total of 37.58%.

emphasizes the need for Georgia to focus on its aspirations for integration with Western institutions and to uphold democratic principles.
