While much of the world’s focus is on developments in the United States, Lithuanian lawmaker and Chair of the European Affairs Committee, Žygimantas Pavilionis, urged the international community not to overlook Georgia.

In a statement on social media, Pavilionis stressed that Georgia, as part of Europe, deserves urgent attention and an impartial investigation into alleged election violations.

“While today all eyes are on the United States, there is a country that needs our attention more than ever,” Pavilionis wrote.

“Georgia is Europe and deserves an immediate and fair investigation into the violations reported during last week’s elections in Georgia,” he added.
