Peace will be impossible without mutual understanding. Our life comes with numerous threats, especially nowadays, Eminence Grigol said on Friday, during the service dedicated to the Transfiguration holiday.

“We should remember that this day concerns absolutely everyone and everything, it is not only the blessing of fruits”, said the top cleric.

Speaking about the importance of the foliday, the Eminence stressed that “the essence of this day is that a person should offer the first fruit of his labour to the Lord, because everything is God’s mercy and we express gratitude for this mercy.”

“Today is Transfiguration. This  day has a great importance in our lives. One of the weaknesses of a man is forgetfulness. The loss of historical memory is severe and terrible. Holy history is not a collection of myths or legends, it is a living history of how God created man and inhabited him In heaven. After that the man broke the commandment of the Lord, he was expelled from heaven, and was promised that the time would come for his return,” said the cleric, noting that God “came to this world to save humans” and went through torture.

The Eminence said that transfiguration was a “crucial moment” in the life of each person, as “when a Christian begins his journey to the Lord, he must go through this stage and stand firmly on the path so that nothing tempts him”.

“Today, first of all, we awaken our memory so that we do not forget what happened and why it happened. The Church reminds us what we should do and how we should behave”.

He stated that people should believe in God, trust him, but should always act and take responsibilities.
