Pediatrician Kote Chakhunashvili has been arrested on charges of disobeying police, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The charge is an administrative offense, which may result in a fine or up to 15 days of administrative detention.

Chakhunashvili’s family reported that they had lost contact with him around 8 PM, after he left home to attend a protest. His car was found abandoned near his residence.

Additionally, on December 8, police arrived at Chakhunashvili’s home to summon him for questioning in a criminal case. The pediatrician was expected to provide testimony before a judge.
