The President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Pere Joan Pons Sampietro, has said that the recent visit of the Assembly’s delegation to Georgia was not connected to the so-called Moscow Mechanism.

Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, Pons Sampietro explained that although the mechanism was mentioned during meetings, it was not related to the purpose of the delegation’s visit.

“Of course, we mentioned it, and they mentioned it as well, but it is not connected with us,” he said.

The OSCE PA President added that he has not seen the report prepared under the Moscow Mechanism and does not have access to it.

“I do not have access to the report and have not seen it. I think the most important thing is that we were able to engage with all the actors,” Pons Sampietro said.
