The Georgian Prime Minister announced the increase in monthly state social assistance for more than 215,000 children on the International Children’s Day marked on Wednesday.

“Taking care of our children for a better future, creating conditions for their development, health and upbringing as full-fledged citizens is a precondition for Georgia’s strength and thus, the main task of our government,” Garibashvili said.

He stated that a number of reforms and projects have been implemented in this direction since the Georgian Dream took office in 2012.

“Last year we doubled the assistance to socially vulnerable children. From today, the aid will increase even more and will amount to 150 GEL. The program will affect more than 215,000 children, for which the state will allocate 341 million GEL. Our efforts to reduce child poverty and ensure their development will continue and be strengthened.”

“I wish our children and their families peace, health and prosperity,” said Garibashvili.

The International Children’s Day is marked worldwide today.
