PM Garibashvili holds farewell meeting with German Ambassador Knirsch

Irakli Garibashvili, the Prime Minister of Georgia, held a farewell meeting with Hubert Knirsch, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Georgia on Monday.

 

Garibashvili and Knirsch discussed the relationship between Georgia and Germany.

 

The PM expressed his gratitude to the diplomat for the “close and active cooperation”, wishing him “every success” in future endeavours.

 

“Productive cooperation between Georgia and Germany was highlighted both in bilateral and multilateral formats, and personal contribution of the Ambassador was noted in solidifying these relations,” the Government of Georgia press office said.

 

Garibashvili thanked the German diplomat for “solid support” of the territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia.

 

Ernst Peter Fischer will replace Hubert Knirsch as the German Ambassador to Georgia.

 

Fischer has tweeted that he will take office on August 1.
