“We will remove all artificial barriers so that the representative of the Georgian  diaspora can easily get a Georgian passport,” said the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili at a forum dedicated to the Diaspora Day – “Georgian Diaspora for the European future of Georgia,” on Friday.

He stated that the Ministry of Justice has already started working and the relevant bill will be submitted to the Parliament in September.

“We will do our best to strengthen the connection that exists between the diaspora and the state, to make it more effective, and most importantly – it must all be result-oriented,” Garibashvili said.

Georgian president Salome Zourabichvili suggested that the economic involvement of the members of the diaspora in the country’s economic activities was “ very important.”

She said that it is necessary to draft the projects which would ensure the involvement of the emigrants in those activities.
