Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili on Wednesday expressed hope that the country would finish the year with a double-digit economic growth.

Speaking at the Investors Council meeting, Garibashvili also focused on the increase in foreign direct investments.

According to the head of the government,  FDI had doubled in the first six months of this year, amounting to 922 million dollars, which, he said “is also an important reason for optimism”.

In his previous comments, the PM praised the activities of his government which “had ensured” the increase in the economy, while the countries worldwide were facing “recession” due to the Russia-Ukraine war.
