PM’s speech “insulting” to whole nation – political analyst Jejelava

Political analyst Lela Jejelava told Front News on Friday that prime minister Irakli Gatribashvili’s recent speech to the state legislature was “insulting to the whole nation.” 

She said it was unclear why the opposition had summoned the head of the government to parliament. 

“The opposition’s expectations are unclear to me. Three of the four words pronounced by Garibashvili were the curse of the  opposition and insultive to the whole nation. The opposition once again allowed the PM to speak in such an unacceptable manner”, said the analyst. 

She suggested that completion of the political polarization in the country under the Georgian Dream authorities was “unlikely”. 

Responding to the remark of the PM – “let’s not cheat the public” – over observing a minute silence in honour of Georgian volunteers killed in Ukraine, Jejeleva claimed that the “current authorities do not hide that they support Russia in its war against Ukraine”.
