Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili on Monday claimed food and oil importers had been “getting rich at the expense of the people”, as they were working on “very high profits”.

The official said the oil importers added almost 1 GEL for one liter of oil, while the people had to pay almost 100 percent more for various food products.

Garibashvili instructed  finance, economy and agriculture ministers to set up a working group to discuss the question with importers in a bid to “find solutions”, noting he should have potential solutions on his table in two weeks.
