Paata Manjgaladze, an MP from the opposition Strategy Agmashenebeli, on Wednesday said the country’s prime minister Irakli Garibashvili should be “banned from speaking at any international forum”, in comments on the PM’s latest remarks at the Bratislava Global Security Forum earlier this week.

The opposition lawmaker claimed Garibashvili’s all speeches had been “sabotage against the country’s European future”.  “Russians are not invited to such high-ranking forums and they have appointed a person called the Georgian PM who goes and sends Moscow’s messages to these forums. Garibashvili should be banned from speaking at forums. It is better for the Georgian Dream to remain silent, not to go anywhere. The country will get the European Union membership candidate status anyway”, Manjgaladze said.

In his remarks at the forum on Tuesday, Garibashvili said Ukraine’s desire to join NATO had led to its ongoing conflict with Russia. He also noted he saw “no serious efforts” from the international community to facilitate the end of the “devastating war”.
