The Polish government has gifted 468,000 doses of German-US Pfizer vaccine to Georgia which data expires at the end of March 2022, the Georgian Health Ministry has confirmed.

Georgian Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia says that ‘it is a very important support’ in this difficult time.

Coronavirus cases are hitting 5,000-6,000 daily amid a low rate of vaccination in Georgia.

More than 900,000 individuals have been completely vaccinated in the country since March 2021, while the daily vaccination rate has dropped to average 3,000 over the past several weeks.

There is a threat that the vaccines the country has as of today, may expire due to the low demand.
