The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed disappointment with the Georgian government’s decision to suspend negotiations with the European Union regarding its accession process. The ministry reiterated Poland’s ongoing support for Georgia’s pro-European aspirations and urged the Georgian authorities to avoid using violence against peaceful protesters.

Poland, a long-time ally of Georgia, emphasized the importance of upholding democratic values and maintaining a clear European path for the country.

’’The MFA is disappointed with the decision of Georgia’s authorities to suspend talks with the EU on opening accession negotiations. Poland remains committed to supporting Georgia society’s pro-European aspirations and calls on Georgian authorities to avoid violence against peaceful protests,” the Ministry stated.

This statement comes amid widespread protests across Georgia in response to the government’s decision to delay EU negotiations until at least 2028.
