Georgian law enforcers have arrested three individuals in the murder case of Anastasia Shatalova in Tbilisi on October 18.

Shatalova had a dispute with Batumi former vice-mayor Zurab Beridze, claiming that Beridze forcibly took their child away from her, breaking his promise on marriage.

The Georgian Prosecutor’s Office says  that one of the detainees fired several shots at Shatalova, while two others helped him to flee the scene and go on the run.

The Prosecutor’s Office states that they also confiscated heroin in large quantities and a hand grenade from the home of the detainee who allegedly murdered the young woman.

The police have not identified the motive behind the murder.

Charges have already been filed against the detainees.
