Police checking links between ex-vice-mayor of Batumi and recently killed woman

Police are searching the home of Batumi former vice-mayor Zurab Beridze after a young woman Anastasia Shatalova was killed in Tbilisi allegedly late yesterday.

Shatalova claimed that she had a child from Beridze and the latter took away the child from her illegally. She stated that Beridze promised to marry her, but later returned to his first wife. 

Neighbours say that they had heard several shots. 

The investigation has been launched for premeditated murder.
