Political analyst Khukhashvili: President makes right statements, but we elect leaders for right actions

The president is making the right statements, but we choose the institutional leaders not for the right assessments, but for the right actions, political scientist Gia Khukhashvili told Front News  on Friday. 

He suggested that the President Salome Zourabichvili has selected a proper niche. However, Khushashvili said that he had low expectations of the president’s statements to push genuine changes. 

“The president has taken a very interesting niche, conciliatory, consolidating, clearly outspoken, pro-European, pro-Western, trying to make non-partisan messages. Within the framework of the niche, she is right in her statements. However, it is unlikely that the President’s messages to make changes,” Khukhashvili stated.

“Her correct criticism of the government evokes public sympathy, but we do not choose institutional leaders to speak correctly on TV, others also do this well. We choose them to act correctly, and when it comes to action, of course, she has problems,” said Khukhashvili.

Zourabichvili has criticized the Georgian Dream authorities for its statements over MEPs, towards Europe and the issues related to Ukraine.
