Officers from the Adjara Police Department in western Georgia have arrested two Turkish nationals wanted under Interpol red notices, Georgia’s Interior Ministry said on Thursday.

The two men were being sought by Turkish law enforcement authorities on fraud charges.

Officials said the suspects had crossed into Georgia before the international search notices were issued against them.

Following investigative measures, both individuals were detained separately in Batumi.

The Interior Ministry said extradition procedures are currently under way in accordance with Georgian law.
