Three repeat offenders arrested in Batumi for violent assault, threats

The crimes are punishable by up to 13 years of imprisonment under Georgian law

Police in Georgia’s western Adjara region have arrested three men with prior criminal records on charges of inflicting severe bodily harm and issuing death threats against two individuals.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) said on Friday the officers of the Adjara Police Department detained the suspects - identified as I.D. (born in 1983), O.J. (born in 1983), and Kh.A. (born in 1984) - following a series of operative and investigative actions.
The crimes are punishable by up to 13 years of imprisonment under Georgian law.
The investigation determined that on 19 October this year, during an altercation in Batumi, I.D. and O.J. assaulted a father and son - M.F. (born in 1982) and G.F. (born in 2005) - using a bladed weapon, causing bodily injuries to multiple areas of their bodies.
Meanwhile, the third suspect, Kh.A., allegedly threatened to kill the victims during the same confrontation.
Both victims were transported to a medical facility, where they received appropriate treatment.
