Man arrested for large-scale cannabis cultivation in Eastern Georgia

The man is accused of illegally cultivating narcotic plants in a rented property near Lake Bazaleti, eastern Georgia.

A Georgian national has been arrested on charges of large-scale drug trafficking, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced on Friday.
The ministry said officers from the Main Division for Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking of the Central Criminal Police Department apprehended the suspect - identified only as A.M., born in 1990 - as a result of coordinated operational and investigative efforts.
The man is accused of illegally cultivating narcotic plants in a rented property near Lake Bazaleti, eastern Georgia. Police said they had discovered 136 cannabis plants growing in greenhouses specially arranged by the suspect.
The offence is punishable by up to 12 years in prison.
