Georgian police have arrested four individuals in Tbilisi on charges related to drug trafficking and possession of large quantities of illegal substances, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced on Monday.
The arrests were carried out by officers from multiple departments - including the Main Investigation Department of the Tbilisi Police and the Vake-Saburtalo, Isani-Samgori, and Old Tbilisi divisions - following coordinated operational and investigative actions conducted over recent weeks, the body said.
Among those detained is a Belarusian citizen, born in 1998, along with three Georgian nationals: a 16-year-old minor, a 21-year-old man with a prior conviction, and a 40-year-old also previously convicted. Authorities identified them only by their initials: T.E., G.A., T.Ch., and K.T.
The suspects face charges of illegal purchase and possession of large and especially large quantities of narcotics, as well as preparation and attempted sale. If convicted, they could face prison terms of up to 20 years.
During searches of the suspects’ residences and personal belongings, law enforcement officers seized various narcotic substances, including Alpha PVP, amphetamine, and methadone.
