Two arrested in Tbilisi on charges of large-scale drug possession, trafficking

Officers of the Old Tbilisi and Isani-Samgori Main Divisions of the Tbilisi Police Department under Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested two individuals on charges of illegal acquisition and possession of a particularly large quantity of narcotic substances, as well as facilitating their illegal distribution.
Those arrested are a previously convicted individual, born in 1970 and identified as K.F., and a citizen of Belarus, born in 1992 and identified as S.R.
During searches of the suspects’ persons and residential premises, law enforcement officers seized a particularly large quantity of the narcotic substance tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and dried marijuana as physical evidence.
In addition, during an investigative experiment, narcotic substance methadone prepared for sale was seized from several locations indicated by one of the defendants.
The crime envisage a sentence of up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
