Three arrested on drug charges in Tbilisi

Officers from the Didube-Chughureti and Old Tbilisi Divisions of the Tbilisi Police Department, under Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, have arrested three individuals on drug-related charges following a series of operations and investigative actions.
According to the Ministry, the suspects include a Russian national born in 1983 (T.Sh.), a Georgian citizen born in 1998 (A.K.), and another Georgian citizen born in 1992 (G.Ts.), who has a prior criminal record and is currently serving a suspended sentence. The individuals were detained on charges related to the illegal purchase, possession, production, sale, attempted sale, and preparation for sale of particularly large quantities of narcotic substances.
If convicted, the charges carry a penalty of up to 20 years in prison.
During personal searches and a follow-up investigative experiment, police seized significant quantities of illegal substances, including methadone, MDMA, and other psychotropic drugs, which were reportedly hidden in various locations for distribution.
The investigation is ongoing under Articles 260, 18-260, and 19-260 (tertiary sections) of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
