Police detain two on drug charges in Tbilisi

The Ministry of Internal Affairs on Tuesday said that officers of the Tbilisi Police Department’s Vake-Saburtalo divisions had arrested two individuals on drug-related charges following separate investigative and operational activities.
The detainees, identified as D.Z. (born in 1990) and G.Z. (born in 1993), are accused of the illegal purchase and possession of narcotics, as well as facilitating their distribution.
During searches of the suspects and at several locations, police seized quantities of dried marijuana prepared for sale as evidence.
The Ministry noted that the crime is punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
