Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili, who is attending her impeachment session in the state legislature, on Wednesday told the ruling party MPs “you are not impeaching me, but but yourself, the country, its European future, and your every vote is a vote against our future”.

“Never forget that today you, personally and collectively, accept this responsibility. What face and what name you will leave in the history of this country will be decided at this pretend and ‘ordinary work session’. Being here, participating in this farce, with silence or speech, is already your judgment!”Zourabichvili said.

The party needs at least 100 votes to dismiss Zourabichvili. However, large opposition groups claim they would boycott the impeachment.
