President grants citizenship to 2,364 Russian citizens since Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine

President Salome Zourabichvili has granted Georgian citizenship to 2,564 Russian citizens since the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine in February 2022, the President’s Administration responded to the opposition MP Levan Bezhashvili on Wednesday.
The President’s Administration said 2,530 of the 2,564 citizens were of Georgian origin, 23 had family members with Georgian citizenship, and 11 were successful in sports, science, or in the field of art, and wished to continue their activities on behalf of Georgia.
