President of the European Council Charles Michel promised to accelerate the supply of vaccines to Ukraine against COVID-19 within the framework of the COVAX mechanism.

“The EU has already provided € 190 million to Ukraine in the fight against COVID-19 and € 1.2 billion in macro-financial assistance. And we are helping Ukraine gain access to COVID-19 vaccines. EU-supported COVAX activities have distributed a significant amount of vaccines to Ukraine, and I I will personally work to speed up the delivery," Michel said at a press conference after talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kiev on Wednesday.

He indicated that he had reaffirmed the EU's solidarity with the people of Ukraine in the face of COVID-19 and visited the vaccination center during his visit.
