President urges Parliament Speaker to take “strictest measures” after “shameful” session with insults

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili on Tuesday urged the Parliament Speaker to take “strictest measures” after a “shameful session” which saw a verbal dispute and insults between the ruling party and the opposition MPs. 

 

In her comments the President expressed her solidarity for the female lawmakers who had been insulted by the GD MPs Irakli Beraia and Aluda Ghudushauri. 

 

“I think he [Speaker] should act quickly and react!”, the statement said.

 

Opposition MPs Ana Tsitlidze and Teona Akubardia have received insults from the GD MPs,while Tsitlidze also insulted Ghudushauri prior to his insulting response.
