Irakli Kobakhidze, the head of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Wednesday slammed President Salome Zourabichvili during her impeachment session at the Parliament, and claimed she was with the “radical” United National Movement opposition party, in office between 2004-2012.
Kobakhidze also accused the President of using “unethical terminology” and noted if not the GD support in 2018, she would have “never taken” the post.
“She violates ethical rules more and more often and, unfortunately, makes statements that lack politeness. A few days ago, Zourabichvili called the MPs elected by the people “little men”. She did not even call [Nika] Gvaramia [a founder of the opposition-minded channel pardoned by her earlier this year] a “little man”, who earlier called her a resident and I did not repeat [other insulting words]”, Kobakhidze said.
In her comments on Monday, the President slammed the Constitutional Court for backing her impeachment, and noted she wished to attend the session over her impeachment, adding she was not afraid of the “little men”, in reference to the GD MPs.
