The Georgian chief prosecutor’s office on Friday aggravated charges against the director and employees of “Greenservice+”, as well as the director and an expert of “Mshen-expert”, the companies involved in the renovation process, in a central Tbilisi Vake park electrocution incident that killed a 13-year-old last year.
The prosecutor’s office charged the director of “Greenservice+” with performing low-quality work that caused the death of a person and injured two others, as well as using fake official documents that caused significant damage.
The director of “Mshen-Expert” and the employee of the company have been charged with encouragement to make official documents fake.
On October 13, 2022, while playing in the newly renovated park, teenagers dropped a ball into the pool, and two boys who went into the water to retrieve it got electrocuted, which was caused by the electric current passing through the water from the damaged cable. After that, they became incapacitated and fell into the pool.
Marita Meparishvili, who attempted to help her friends, also received injuries and died in hospital.
Nine individuals have been charged in the case.
