The Georgian Prosecutor General’s Office on Wednesday opened an investigation for negligence of official duties following the claims by a domestic non-governmental organization during the day that a “key evidence” in the case of the death of a 12-year-old Anna Ianushaitite had been damaged.
The body pointed to alleged violation of storage conditions and said mold-like cracks had been found on samples taken from the corpse.
The body of the teeneger was found in the Didi-Digomi district of Tbilisi on March 17, after several-hour search, with several domestic media outlets naming food asphyxiation behind the fatality.
However, the family alleges the minor could have been attacked and killed.
