The Board of Trustees of the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) has concluded its discussions on the issue of employees critical of the management.

During a meeting on March 21, board members discussed allegations of Vasil Ivanov-Chikovani, Nino Zautashvili, Kakhka Melikidze, Gia Imnashvili and other GPB journalists. The broadcaster’s legal representative presented a comprehensive report outlining the chronological coverage of events by the channel.

Board members argued that the employees who had opposed the management in recent months had failed to provide solid evidence to support their claims. They suggested that these journalists were acting with a specific agenda and called for an investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office.

“It would be appropriate for the Prosecutor’s Office to examine why these individuals took such actions and why these incidents are interconnected. If we fail to address this properly, provocations will continue. This should not be left unresolved. A thorough investigation is necessary. This involves the misuse of state resources for personal, political, or even financial gain. If money was involved or political motives played a role, it must be investigated,” said board member and GPB Director, Vasili Maglaperidze.
