Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia refrains from interfering in Georgia’s internal political processes, contrasting this approach with that of Western countries. Speaking on recent developments in Georgia, Putin expressed surprise at the Georgian leadership’s courage and determination in defending their stance on controversial legislative proposals.

“When the events in Georgia unfolded, I watched with surprise,” Putin said. “We have no relations with Georgia’s leadership, but I was simply astonished by their courage and character in defending their position. I won’t evaluate this position, but their resolve was notable,” he stated.
