Yemeni national detained in Georgia for attempting illegal border crossing with fake document

Georgian police officers have arrested a Yemeni national for attempting to illegally cross the country’s state border using a forged document, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said on Saturday.

The Ministry added the suspect was detained at Tbilisi International Airport while attempting to use the fake document to cross the border.

The offence is punishable by up to five years of imprisonment.
