If convicted, the suspect could face a prison sentence of between three and six years

Georgia’s Investigative Service of the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday said it had detained a man accused of producing and selling a forged official document.

The suspect sold a counterfeit Georgian driving licence to a citizen in exchange for $700, the Service said. 

The Investigative Service added it was continuing to carry out enquiries to identify and charge any other individuals involved in the crime.

If convicted, the suspect could face a prison sentence of between three and six years.
