Kazakh President congratulates Georgian PM on “well-deserved reappointment”

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s visit to Kazakhstan saw Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev extend congratulations on Kobakhidze’s reappointment, praising his leadership and the growing bilateral relationship between the two countries.
The meeting, held at the Presidential Palace in Astana, focused on strengthening political and economic ties, including expanding trade, investment, and tourism, the Government press office said.
Tokayev commended Georgia’s significant economic progress, noting an impressive 9.4% growth last year, and expressed his country’s commitment to furthering cooperation. “Your well-deserved appointment reflects your strong leadership,” Tokayev said, highlighting Georgia’s importance as a strategic partner for Kazakhstan.
Kobakhidze reciprocated by emphasizing the “vital role Georgia plays in regional connectivity”, particularly through the Middle Corridor, and thanked Kazakhstan for its steadfast support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The meeting also featured discussions on deepening cooperation in various sectors, reinforcing the historical and strong ties that bind the two nations.
