Remittances from Russia to Georgia amount to $313.9 million in May, 10 times more than in 2021

Remittances from Russia to Georgia have amounted to $313.9 million in May which is 10 times more compared to the same period of 2021.

 

The total remittances from all other countries stood at 191.8 million in May.

 

Remittances from Russia by years are as follows:

 

May 2022 – $ 313.9 million,

May 2021 – $ 31.7 million;

May 2020 – $ 19.8 million;

May 2019 – $ 34.8 million;

May 2018 – $ 37 million.

 

Remittances sent from Russia by months (2022):

 

May – $ 313.9 million;

April – $ 133 million;

March – $ 27 million;

February – $ 22 million;

January – $ 22.4 million.

 

Russia has taken the first place in terms of remittances to Georgia for years, with rare exceptions when it was preceded by Italy.

 

Along with the increase in remittances from Russia, remittances from Georgia to this country are decreasing, which earlier ranged between four to eight  thousand dollars on average.

 

From March to May 2022, about 2.7 thousand dollars have been sent to Russia from Georgia.
