Robert Brovdi, the ethnic Hungarian commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Aerial Systems Forces, on Thursday criticised Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s government after being barred from entering the country following drone strikes on the Druzhba oil pipeline.
“Take your sanctions and travel restrictions and put them where they belong, Mr. ‘dancer on bones.’ I am Ukrainian, and I will come to my father’s homeland after you are gone. There are enough true Hungarians in Hungary, and one day they will tire of you”, he wrote in a social media post.
“You are not defending Hungary’s sovereignty but your dirty pockets, filled with cheap, sanctioned raw materials. By buying them, you help accumulate blood money — money that turns into rockets and Shaheds raining down on peaceful Ukrainian cities. Only today, on August 28, 2025, dozens of Ukrainians were killed in Kyiv. Your hands are stained with Ukrainian blood up to the elbows, and we will remember this”, he added,
Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó confirmed that Hungary, along with the broader Schengen area, imposed an entry ban on the Ukrainian commander, citing his unit’s responsibility for recent attacks on the Druzhba pipeline.
