Romanian Parliament Speaker Nicolae Ciucă on Monday said his country was ready to strengthen Black Sea cooperation, energy, trade and  economic ties with Georgia, in a press conference with his Georgian counterpart Shalva Papuashvili in Bucharest.

He stressed that countries should pay “particular attention” to widen project-based cooperation, in particular energy and connectivity projects. “The green energy corridor and the Black Sea submarine electric cable are just two examples”, Ciucă said.

The official also reaffirmed his country’s commitment to Georgia’s EU integration, before signing a cooperation agreement with Papuashvili.

For his part, Papuashvili extended his gratitude to the “continuous support” for Georgia’s  EU integration and expressed readiness to further strengthen “strategic partnership”.
