Ruling party head: ‘opposition already destroyed’

Head of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party Irakli Kobakhidze says that 10 days before the October 2 municipal elections ‘opposition is already destroyed.’ 

Kobakhidze’s response comes on the heels of media reports, based on GD member Dimitri Samkharadze, that footage will be released one week before the elections ‘which will completely destroy the opposition.’ 

“No additional footage is needed. Opposition is already destroyed,” Kobakhidze said. 

The ruling party is sure they will receive at least 46 percent of votes in the election, while the opposition vows the party will lose the race.
