Irakli Kobakhidze, the head of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Tuesday said he was

“optimistic” about the new Ambassador of the United States to the country Robin Dunnigan, expressing hopes she would “radically change” the policy pursued by her predecessor Kelly Degnan.

In his press comments, Kobakhidze claimed Degnan had created “serious problems” in Georgian-US relations and that her activities were “counterproductive”.

“I hope bilateral ties will further strengthen under the new Ambassador. This is my great desire and I look forward to the cooperation with the new Ambassador with great interest,” he said.
