Ruling party head: we wish our friendly Ukrainian people independence, restoration of territorial integrity

Irakli Kobakhidze, the head of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Friday responded to the Russia-Ukraine ongoing war anniversary by saying “we wish our friendly Ukrainian people independence and restoration of territorial integrity!”

In his social media post, the official said thousands of military and civilians had been killed in the conflict, including more than 450 children, that began on this day in 2022. 

“16 million Ukrainians have become refugees. The war has destroyed the Ukrainian economy and infrastructure”, Kobakhidze noted. 

The lawmaker pointed out that “prior to the war, we were saying that the international community had to do everything to prevent this war and to avoid the great tragedy. However, unfortunately, Russian military aggression still took place”. 

“Ukrainian military and volunteers are heroically struggling for the independence and territorial integrity of their own country! I bow to their heroism and dedication! We wish our friendly Ukrainian people independence and restoration of territorial integrity!” Kobakhidze wrote.
