The ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party MP Anri Okhanashvili says that Kyiv is making “illogical statements” following its allegations towards Georgia that Tbilisi is aiding Russia to smuggle in various goods.

The intelligence service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry and the country’s vice PM raised the accusations earlier this week, with Tbilisi responding that the allegations were groundless and demanded Kyiv to present evidence for them.

Ukrainian FM Dmytro Kuleba said yesterday that it should be Tbilisi to present the evidence that the country is not aiding Russia to circumvent sanctions.

Okhanashvili said today that “it fits no rules or diplomacy when an accuser is demanding evidence for its own accusations from the side it had  accused .”

He stated that the Ukrainian authorities are engaged with attacking the Georgian government when the latter is “taking all steps” to support Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in all international platforms.
