The ruling Georgian Dream party and the opposition have almost agreed on the resolution text in support of Ukraine, only minor issues need to be settled, mostly about terminology, opposition MP Khatuna Samnidze has stated.

She said that the draft resolution was presented by the ruling party and then they considered several remarks by the opposition.

Fellow opposition MP from Lelo party Badri Japaridze said that if it were up to individual parties, the resolution text would be different.

“However, it is now crucial for Ukraine to see the support from Georgia,” Japaridze said.

Russian troops are currently assembled at the Ukrainian border, posing threats of invasion.

Russia occupies the territories of both Georgia and Ukraine and demands NATO not to add the countries as new members.
