The ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party MP Nikoloz Samkharadze said Monday that the head of the Servant of the People faction in the Ukrainian parliament, David Arakhamia, “is interested in discrediting Georgia and harming the country’s interests.”

Arakhamia, who is of Georgian origin, said Monday that he was ready to help “non-pro Russian political parties in Georgia” to contact top EU figures to benefit Georgia’s European integration process.

Samkharadze, who chairs the Parliament’s Foreign Relations Committee, reiterated that Arakhamia was a “pseudo patriot” and was affiliated with “destructive political forces” in Georgia.

The MP noted that Arakhamia “wished to see international sanctions imposed on Georgia, but his dream will not come true.”

The ruling party has accused Arakhamia several times of lobbying against Georgia’s European integration to support the United National Movement “overthrow” the current Georgian authorities.
