Prime Minister and head of the ruling Georgian Dream election campaign, Irakli Kobakhidze, emphasized the strength of the ruling party’s team as the key factor in the continuous development of Georgia’s economy. Speaking during the presentation of GD’s election program on Monday, Kobakhidze highlighted that political freedom and peace alone are not enough for economic growth—effective management and policies are crucial.

“Our strong team is the main guarantee that we can ensure the ongoing focus on economic development. It’s not just about politics or freedom, and peace alone is not sufficient for economic growth. Our team continuously works to drive the country’s economic progress,” Kobakhidze stated.

He noted that economic growth is primarily driven by effective economic policies and supportive legislation that promotes and assists business development. He also underlined the importance of business freedom, recalling the challenging business environment before 2012 under the previous government, which he characterized as
“racketeering and terror against businesses.”

“Today, businesses are fully free, and this is reflected in our economic growth. Peace and stability are additional factors that have helped maintain and ensure economic development. Despite political challenges, we have significantly strengthened our economy, and in the coming years, as we stabilize the political environment even further, our economic growth will accelerate,” the PM added.

Kobakhidze also praised the government’s economic team, led by First Deputy Prime Minister Levan Davitashvili, for their expertise and effectiveness.

“Our economic team far exceeds the capabilities of the entire opposition combined. This strong team will continue to actively work to sustain Georgia’s rapid economic growth,” he concluded.
