Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Sunday said Russia carried out large-scale attacks on Ukraine over the past week, using hundreds of drones, guided bombs and missiles against targets across the country.

The Ukrainian President said Russian forces launched nearly 1,750 attack drones, 1,530 guided aerial bombs and 39 missiles during the period.

“Over the past week, Russia has attacked our country thousands of times. The enemy used nearly 1,750 attack drones, 1,530 guided bombs and 39 missiles against our people,” Zelenskyy said.

He added that civilian infrastructure, including energy facilities and residential buildings, had been among the targets of the attacks.

Zelenskyy said Ukrainian forces managed to neutralise most of the incoming targets but stressed that the country needs stronger and more consistent protection.

He added air defence missiles remain a priority, and contributions and supplies provided through the PURL programme are crucial.

“I thank everyone who continues to support us. We must further strengthen sanctions against Russia and its accomplices. Everything that helps Russia finance and continue this war must be blocked,” Zelenskyy said.

The Ukrainian President added that Kyiv would hold discussions with European partners on these issues.
