Russia highly likely preparing to attempt to deploy a large number of reserve units to Donbas – UK intelligence

The UK Defence Ministry reports based on the intelligence data that heavy shelling continues as Russia pushes to envelop the Severodonetsk area via Izium in the north and Popasna in the south. 

“Russia is highly likely preparing to attempt to deploy a large number of reserve units to the Donbas,” said the UK Defence Ministry on Wednesday.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in the morning that Russian units are trying to establish full control over Severodonetsk by blockading the Ukrainian Defense Forces near the settlements of Pokrovskoye and Voronovo.

According to the head of the Lugansk regional military administration, street battles continue in Severodonetsk, and at the same time, the Russian military forces are approaching the neighboring city of Lisichansk and are using artillery, tanks and aircraft in the attack.
