Russia, NATO conduct exercises in Baltic Sea simultaneously

Russia and NATO are simultaneously conducting military exercises in the Baltic Sea according to their own plans.

 

Moscow launched its exercises early on Monday, with 3,500 military personnel, about 40 ships, 25 airplanes and helicopters involved, while NATO is conducting an annual “Baltic Operations”, which it launched on Sunday. 

 

The alliance’s 19 members and candidate Sweden are involved in it, with about 6,000 servicemembers, 50 ships and 45 aircraft. The exercises will last until June 16.
