Russia’s inevitable defeat Georgia’s victory – UNM’s Melia on Ukraine Independence Day

The head of the United National Movement opposition party, Nika Melia, said on Wednesday that “Russia’s inevitable defeat by Ukraine” in the ongoing war, “means Georgia’s victory”, in his comments on Ukraine’s Independence Day which is marked today. 

“I believe that the largest country in Europe by territory will soon become a great country in all respects. The freedom-loving world will win, because as a symbol of the struggle for freedom – Dzhokhar Dudayev said – ‘Russia will die when the sun of Ukraine rises!’ Glory to Ukraine”, Melia said. 

The US had warned its citizens to leave Kyiv ahead of the Independence Day because of possible attacks by Russia on the buildings and infrastructure of the Ukrainian capital.
